Ruah and Mettle Gifts Unite to Grow Impact for Women Rebuilding Their Lives

Ruah is proud to share an exciting new chapter, formally joining forces with Boorloo (Perth) based social enterprise Mettle Gifts.

This partnership brings together two purpose-led organisations with a shared commitment to supporting people experiencing homelessness, family and domestic violence (FDV), and ongoing hardships — with a particular focus on creating pathways toward safety, independence and long-term stability.

For many years, Ruah has worked alongside Mettle Gifts, witnessing firsthand the powerful impact of its model. Mettle provides safe, flexible and meaningful employment for women who have experienced homelessness as a result of family and domestic violence — offering not just income, but an opportunity to rebuild confidence, connection and a sense of purpose.

This formal partnership marks a significant step forward in ensuring that this impact can continue, and grow.

Protecting What Works, Growing What Matters

Mettle has built a strong and trusted presence as a social enterprise that centres dignity and empowerment. Through the creation of handcrafted products, the initiative creates employment opportunities that are responsive to the needs of women navigating complex life circumstances.

By bringing Mettle into the Ruah family, the focus remains clear: to protect and strengthen a model that is already creating a positive impact, while expanding its reach to support more women into the future.

Importantly, Mettle will continue to operate as it is known today — with its team, values and purpose firmly intact.

A Shared Vision for Change

Ruah’s work has always been grounded in walking alongside people at some of their most challenging moments, supporting recovery, healing and independence. Mettle’s approach complements this by providing a pathway into employment that is safe, accessible and empowering.

Together, this alignment creates new opportunities to deepen impact — connecting support services with meaningful employment outcomes, and strengthening the long-term pathways available to women rebuilding their lives.

This partnership reflects a shared belief that everyone deserves safety, dignity and opportunity, and that real change happens when systems, services and communities work together.

Looking Ahead

As Ruah and Mettle move forward together, the focus is on sustaining what makes Mettle special, while supporting its continued growth and reach.

It is also an opportunity to further amplify the voices and experiences of women who have been impacted by homelessness and FDV — ensuring their stories, strengths and potential remain at the centre of the work.

Ruah is incredibly proud to step into this next chapter alongside Mettle, with a shared vision to create lasting, meaningful change in our communities.
