Midwest Mental Health Services
What are the Midwest Services?
Ruah offers two key mental health support programs in Geraldton:
Stronger Ground
A community-based psychosocial support service for people living with severe and persistent mental health challenges. It includes:
- Mental health and wellness recovery support
- FDSV (Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence) case management
- 4-bed respite accommodation
- Community psychosocial support and group programs
Good Days
A free recreation-based program that supports people to build confidence, independence, and social connection through group activities like:
- Gym and walking groups
- Coffee catch-ups
- Creative/art workshops
Limited 1:1 recreation support is also available.
Both programs are delivered by a multidisciplinary team including Support Workers, Peer Recovery Workers, Recreation Specialists, Vocational Specialists, Financial Counsellors, and Counsellors.
Who are these services for?
These services are for individuals who:
- Are aged 16 to 65 (18+ for Stronger Ground)
- Are experiencing or at risk of severe and persistent mental health challenges
- Are recovery ready and consent to the referral
- Are not on the NDIS or are awaiting an NDIS outcome (Stronger Ground only)
- Are case managed by a GP, public mental health service, or private clinic (Stronger Ground only)
Good Days is also open to people with NDIS funding, and carers, family, and friends are welcome to attend group activities.
How to access services in Geraldton
Stronger Ground:
- Ensure the client meets the eligibility criteria, including having an active clinical case manager and has informed their consent.
