Brookfield Properties is dedicated to making a difference in the community and has partnered with Ruah as their nominated charity of choice for the last three years.
The organisation holds an annual fundraising event with staff, friends and One The Esplanade project partners with proceeds going towards helping us with our work supporting women and children escaping family and domestic violence.
In just three years Brookfield Properties has donated in excess of $75,000 – an extraordinary effort which will make a real difference to women and children escaping violence and help them to build new, safe and healthy lives.
Thanks to the efforts of Brookfield Properties, its One The Esplanade development team and their contractors and friends we have been able to create a calming “Yarning Circle” space in the backyard of Kambarang Place, our residential facility for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women escaping domestic violence, homelessness or life crisis. Donations have gone towards purchasing a minivan to enable us to respond quickly to women and children in crises and to transport people staying in our refuges to medical and other appointments. And this year’s fundraising efforts will be used to renovate the kitchen facilities at Kambarang Place.
