Specialist legal services
Ruah Legal Services are committed to providing much-needed, integrated legal and non-legal support to families.
We’ve brought together qualified lawyers, paralegals and community workers, from across the Ruah network to deliver a seamless multidisciplined approach that ranges from advice, early intervention and advocacy, to representation in court, and referral to other services for ongoing care and support.
Our services are carefully integrated, wrapping around our clients to give them the individualised care and support they need. Our specialist teams provide expert advice and representation for eligible clients across the areas:

- Criminal Law Proceedings: Support for clients facing criminal charges related to their mental illness.
- Guardianship & Administration Orders: Support for clients on a range of guardianship and administration matters.
- Care and Protection – legal and non-legal advocacy and support for families facing child protection proceedings, particularly parents experiencing mental health challenges.
- Family & Domestic Violence: Support for women and children experiencing and escaping family violence staying at Ruah’s refuges for our Family and Domestic Violence services.
