Building new career prospects for peer workers

It takes a special kind of person to share their own personal experiences and challenges to help others. At Ruah, our peer workers are one of our greatest strengths – and we’re looking forward to expanding the team!

Acknowledged as one of the first and best teams in the sector, we have been working hard to ensure peer workers have a strong career pathway across our growing services. New roles include an expanded team for the award-winning Choices program, which supports people with mental illness to make a safe transition as they leave hospital or the courts.

Peer workers have lived experience and are able to offer a special type of personal support and understanding to those struggling with mental health challenges, or alcohol and drugs.

A recent peer worker recruitment day, at the Safe Haven at Royal Perth Hospital, attracted strong interest and we look forward to welcoming our newest peer workers in the near future.
