What is the Karlup Service?
The Karlup Service is a healing and recovery support for women and their children under 18 affected by family and domestic violence (FDV).
What does Karlup mean?
Karlup is a Noongar Aboriginal word meaning “a place where you belong and feel safe.”
Who is the Karlup Service for?
The Karlup Service is for women (anyone who identifies as a woman) affected by FDV who:
- Are currently safe and not in immediate danger
- Do not require emergency accommodation
- Is aged 18 years or older
- Are mothers of children under 17 years or those without children.

You are not alone on this journey. Our Koorta Guides, whose name means “trusted one” in Noongar, will walk alongside you every step of the way. They will offer unwavering support and guidance, ensuring you and your children have access to the best resources and care throughout your journey.
