We are proud to have partnered with the Mental Health Commission, the Department of Communities and the Department of Health to produce a series of videos that provide real life community sector examples demonstrating the considerations workers would need to take into account regarding PPE (personal protective equipment) use in different work settings.
While there are standard steps to follow when putting on and removing PPE that apply across all sectors, we know that in the community services sector there are a number of variables that will impact how, and where workers will be able to safely apply, remove and dispose of their PPE.
While the use of PPE is not a requirement in the community services sector in WA at the moment, it’s important to make sure workers in the sector are prepared so we can continue to support the most vulnerable people in our community.
The videos include a step by step demonstration of the use of PPE in:
- client transfers
- community sector setting
- home visits
